Director, Competition Department, Michelin (1973-1984 and 1990-2005)
Former French Air Force pilot, Pierre Dupasquier joined Michelin in 1962, first in R&D. He came up with the idea of a separate motorsport division and eleven years later, when Michelin Competition Department was founded, he was appointed to head it. From 1984 Pierre spent six years as Vice President of Michelin USA but then returned back to motorsports.
Pierre Dupasquier headed Michelin Competition Department for 28 years. In that time Michelin claimed over 1300 wins and 180 world titles, including 15 drivers and 16 manufacturer titles plus 176 wins in WRC. A vast majority of these wins and titles come from various motorcycling disciplines, not a surprise since Pierre himself is fan of motorcycling.
At the end of 2005 season Pierre called it a day and retired.
