Ogier was not shaken by Loeb's lightning start, instead he chose steady approach over difficult stages and struck back later. Behind Ogier, team mates Latvala and Mikkelsen rounded up VW 1-2-3.
Loeb made one-off appearance in one of his favourite rallies. He was fast initially and led until last stage of second day when he broke suspension. Eventually best Citroen was non-nominated Ostberg.
Hyundai's were overshadowed by other teams and struggled to find any pace at all. Yet their steady approach paid off and in the end they were 5th and 6th, second best team after VW.
Both young Ford drivers Evans and Tanak had encouraging start, being 3rd and 4th after SS3. But later their pace slowed and on stage 10 Tanak crashed while Evans lost time with damaged suspension.
