Ogier started cautiously and dropped as low as 9th before steadily stepping up and taking lead in second day. Even final day's challenging conditions couldn't keep him from winning.

Surprise of the rally was Bryan Bouffier in a private Ford. He took an early lead and even though Ogier eventually outpaced him, second place was his first podium and strongly deserved.

Another first timer on podium was Citroen's Kris Meeke. His performance justified the faith Citroen placed on him - and given the difficult conditions, his result was extremely strong showing.
