Ogier had been battling with Lappi, alternating in the lead with him practically every stage. Neuville (pictured) started in his usual style, being relatively slow early on but climbed to third on second day and began piling pressure on leading duo. Ogier went off unexpectedly on SS14 and Lappi dutifully slowed down to let Neuville take the lead and eventual win. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Kalle Rovanpera

All Toyotas except Rovanpera had problems in waterspashes. Katsuta fared worst, retiring on second day after watersplash. Evans lost two minutes after damaging radiator on splash while Ogier's engine only sputtered a while. Rovanpera (pictured) finished third, settling for points rather than risking an attack. Ott Tanak

M-Sport had a nightmare for a rally. Loubet had difficulty engaging gears on SS5 and later went off on SS7, not rejoining for the second day. Tanak (pictured) was unhappy with the car on first day and stalls the car after taking in water on watersplash on second day. Although he manages to finish the stage with hybrid power, he then retires. Restarting for the final day yields only a low position. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
