Tanak had good road position and for the first day, he fought with Toyota's Lappi, alternating in the lead with the Finn. When Lappi retired on first stage of the second day, Tanak emerged with good but not yet decisive lead. Tanak's car wasn't perfect so he's happy that he didn't need to push to the fullest, even though he set a string of fastest times on course to eventual win. Craig Breen

M-Sport Ford's best finisher was Craig Breen, who fought both Hyundai's Sordo but also non-nominated team mate Loubet early on. For the first time during season, Breen's speed and result matched pre-season expectations. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Kalle Rovanpera

Toyota had quite miserable rally as Evans retired with technical problems on SS3 whereas Lappi suffered two punctures before going off on a compression and retiring on first stage of second day. Rovanpera (pictured) finished fifth, having suffered from poor road position due to being championship leader. Note damaged rear spoiler. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
