Ott Tanak was not only local favourite and reigning world champion, but had also won Estonian warm-up event few weeks earlier. Despite pressures, he performed well although not as dominantly as usually. Wresting lead from Rovapera after SS3, he then led until the finish. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window

As a championship leader, Ogier opened the unfamiliar roads in the first half of the opening day and was overshadowed by his team mates. But as Rovanpera hit tyre problems and road order was reseeded after first service, Ogier upped his pace but couldn't match leading Hyundais. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
Teemu Suninen

M-Sport Fords were painfully slow on fast roads, evidence of their lack of testing and development. Lappi was initially slightly in front but Suninen (pictured) gained on and eventually passed his team mate to claim sixth overall. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
