On SS9, almost all top drivers hit various problems and only Evans came through unscathed. Consequently, he inherited the lead with sizeable margin which enabled him to finish without worry. Win and non-score for Ogier meant that Evans catapulted into championship lead.
Neuville scored most stage wins and led the rally for some time until he suffered a puncture on SS9 and lost two minutes changing it. As almost all others drivers had same fate, he only lost two places and went on to finish second overall.
Greensmith was slowest of all factory cars and thus lowest placed - until Suninen stopped with damaged suspension and Lappi suffered a puncture. In the end, Gus claimed fifth overall thanks to trouble-free run.
