Impreza WRC2006 gained questionable reputation as it became first Prodrive-built Subaru rally car that failed to claim any WRC wins.
Based on new face-lifted bodyshell with more angular and aggressive lines, 2006-version also complied with new FIA technical regulations calling for durability and low-tech solutions. With event pairing, teams were required to re-use cars and key components on certain events.
Bodyshell featured improved aerodynamics at the front and also had a special vane above the rearwindow, designed to direct airflow to huge rear wing and help with downforce.
