Ford contested the event under appeal due to irregularities found on their waterpump on pre-event scrutineering. After the event FIA ruled pump illegal and Colin McRae (finished 3rd) and Simon Jean-Joseph (finished 11th) were excluded, so there were 48 actual finishers.
