Klaus Wicha is one of Germany’s most experienced co-drivers and has been competing at the top level for over 20 years. For 2005 he is reunited with Armin Schwarz, with whom he made his WRC debut in 1989.
His career began in 1982, when a friend needed a new co-driver. In 1988 Klaus teamed up with Armin and they won the German Championship with Audi. The pair moved up to the World Rally Championship with Audi, Toyota and Mitsubishi. Between 1989 and 1996 they contested 20 WRC events. Until 1995 Wicha continued to dominate Austrian and German events with domestic drivers and contest WRC rallies with Armin.
Klaus has been constantly in demand for drivers contesting the German, Austrian, Czech and British Championships He won the 1993 Austrian Championship with Raimund Baumschlager and has contested other events with drivers such as Armin Kremer and Achim Mortl. Most recently he has been seen on European Championship events with Quirin Muller, one of the Red Bull Rallye Juniors team.
