Review of the Year
David Williams recounts the events of the year.
Top Ten Drivers
Michel Lizin puts forward his view on who were the top ten drivers in 2000.
The Future for Asphalt
The dangers of driving on tarmac were once again raised in 2000 and Martin Sharp asks whether the danger is too great already and if it is just Corsica. He concludes that asphalt should feature in the championship but that safety can and should be increased.
Interview: Jean-Pierre Nicolas
David Williams speaks with former driver and Peugeot team manager "Jumbo". A number of interesting points are covered, among them comparison to former Peugeot boss Jean Todt, who also was Nicolas' co-driver.
Insight: Richard Burns and Colin McRae
Around the turn of the century, British motorsprt press was very much about rivalry, real or imagined, between Burns and McRae and it seems that Jerry Williams couldn't resist the temptation.
Insight: Prodrive Customer Department
David Williams sheds light into money-making operation number two, selling and running second hand rally cars for private customers. Like many other manufacturer teams, also Prodrive has customer department to handle this business.
Interview: David Richards
Russell Bulgin talks with Richards who pulled off the media scoop of 2000 when he bought ISC from Ecclestone. Many of the ideas he speaks of have since been implemented and many discarded as well.
The Fragmentation of Rallying
David Williams speaks with ex-Ford engineer Philip Dunabin and young driver Gavin Cox about lack of structure and progression ladder in rallying. Problem is the need to have the top machinery in order to get noticed but not having financial means to pay the bill.
Technical Review
Martin Sharp challenges his own principle that states that best solution is the one with least level of complexity. Yet, it seems that recent trends in form of Focus, 206WRC and then new Impreza seemed to point otherwise.
