20th anniversary edition of the Martin Holmes rally annuals, once again of familiar Holmes quality. Representation follows time fashioned format and offers no disappointments, photography mainly by Maurice Selden and some by Martin Holmes.

Plus ca Change - Ove Andersson

With Toyota's return after ban for 1996 season, Holmes interviews TTE's manager Ove Andersson. Interview is done in narrative style and Ove tells about his own experiences as a driver, compares those with current championship and weighs the changes.

In Car Secrets of Rally Drivers

A feature about four top drivers, loosely connected with the features on rally cars in two past editions. Spanning four pages, article has a photo of each driver (Tommi Makinen, Carlos Sainz, Didier Auriol and Colin McRae) sitting in the cockpit and description as to how they sit and act whilst driving, including a word from their respective team managers and co-drivers too. On a sidebars there is a page from their pace notes and explanation of the note system each uses.

Rally Technology's Open Door: Shock Absorbers

A technical article on importance and development of shock absorbers, apparently written in close association with Swedish shock absorber company Ohlins. Article covers the basic operation principles involved, effects or rather lack of effects of heat, use of remote oil reservoirs (then a recent development) and question of active suspension. In separate sidebar active suspension is examined from both technical and rules point of view and in another sidebar is a "shock absorber factfile".

The Future Today - Electric Car Rallying is already here!

In the almost obligatory diversion from WRC activity, this time it's electric rally cars. Despite the prediction, electric cars have not become common by 2007.
