Kalle Rovanpera

Rovanpera was first on the road but damp conditions and somewhat lackluster opposition allowed him to maintain touch in first day and then get past, slowly but surely extending his lead over next two days. On several occasions, including the power stage he enjoyed better conditions than his rivals who were hit by rain. Therefore his winning margin widened to over a minute by the finish. Ott Tanak

Local fans expected a lot from Tanak, local hero and past winner of the event. Hyundai had usually been the faster but more unreliable car but this time they lacked the speed as well. Tanak dug deep but suffered from loose hot air tube and subsequent misting windscreen but also was hit with time penalty for not using electric mode on HEV zone. Adrien Formaux

The only M-Sprt Ford who had no major problems was Adrien Fourmaux, who duly finished 7th overall after losing fights against both Katsuta and Lappi. Team leader Breen went off on second day, Loubet hit rock on final day and Greensmith retired with transmission trouble, also on final day. Click picture to see larger version in a pop-up window
