Review of the Year
David Williams looks back at 2002 season.
Profile: Marcus Gronholm
The convincing 2002 champion is profiled by David Williams.
Car Specifications
Includes not only for World Rally Cars but for Super 1600 machinery as well.
Interview: Kenneth Eriksson
Starting off with brief history of Eriksson, David Williams goes on to have a very brief discussion with Kenneth, only one question's worth.
Top Ten Drivers
Michel Lizin again ranks the top ten drivers of the 2002 season.
Obituaries
David Williams appreciates those deceased in 2002: Tony Pond, Russell Bulgin and Frank Meagher.
Insight: Deutschland Rally
One of the most curious additions to the WRC is looked over by Jerry Williams. He considers the triumph and tragedy involved in it's inclusion, does an imaginary comparison to running similar event in UK and goes over the necessary details.
Interview: Martin Rowe
David Evans hears about the dream job from Rowe who had signed a two-year deal with David Sutton for PWRC programme.
Insight: Channel 4 and the World Championship
Jerry Williams gives his view on importance of television and Channel 4's effort to bring more and better coverage to UK in 2002. What, how, why and for whom are all talked through.
Insight: Suzuki Sport
Back then, Suzuki had just begun JWRC with Ignis and David Williams takes a peek at the new kid on the block. Full of boastings by new and unproven team along the lines of 'next year we want to win and have champion a year after that', history has proven them a team worth their word. So far.
Technical Review
Martin Sharp's review covers the design advances of 2002, admitting a surprise at Peugeot's supremacy. Among other things, there is admission by Hyundai and Mitsubishi engineers that even with WRCar regulations, the base car is very important. It is interesting to note that neither of these teams is no longer in WRC. Testing and importance of finding the correct set-up is also discussed in length.
