What currently is the worlds biggest manufacturer of automobiles, was only a light-weight also-ran in the early years of the WRC. From humble beginnings, Toyota's rallying activities slowly gained momentum until by the end of 1980's team introduced their first top-line rally car and took on to challenge the best in the business. Years of success followed but sadly, Toyota withdrew from WRC at the end of 1999 season, putting an end to one of longest works involvement in the history of the sport.
